The clinical staff were all good. 2 car park machines were out of order and the 3rd was not taking cards. This caused delay and frustration especially with a small child. Main X-ray reception needs better signing to avoid inappropriately accessing clinical areas especially with a child. It is good that there is a dedicated paediatric A/E dept and clinic but a dedicated paediatric theatre could avoid paediatric admissions overnight for simple manipulation of a displaced fracture. This would be preferable for the family and use less resources. Electronic records should mean one does not have to give the same information 4 times. Discharge information should contain follow up advice such as going to X-ray before clinic and that the request form is electronic. Non clinical reception staff should know this or at least be able to understand what is on the discharge summary. I mean this to be taken constructively

The car park needs some serious improvement - there must be a number of patients stressed and flustered before appointments is just silly.

Excellent care at all levels. My daughter stayed on Ward 15/ 16 after a few episodes of surgery late last year. Amy, the domestic, was wonderful and the catering lead was generous, kind and good fun too. Their professionalism and kindness will be remembered as much as the clinical care that was also excellent. To improve, procedures for noise after 7pm should be agreed. Shoes, phones, doors, lights. It's work for the night teams, but bed time for paediatric patients! Shift changes were so noisy and they shouted goodbyes and hellos up and down the ward!

Everything about my brief stay at the St Cross Hospital, Rugby was of outstanding quality. The operation was a complete success, the care and attention I received during my stay were of the highest quality, in all respects - efficiency, courtesy, understanding and medical care.

The staff at the Coventry hospital are very caring and understanding, I took off so many name bands from my wrist and they were replaced with a smile and not one nurse raised a eyebrow. Mr Belt chi was my surgeon and I rate him very highly, My condition was critical and I was treated promptly with kindness and respect. the staff that cared for me were brilliant, I also rate them highly. My life was saved and I'd truly like to thank everyone involved with my care and recuperation. I recommend Coventry Hospital to anyone wanting great care, understanding and to come out feeling satisfied that they have had the best care that they could have for their condition.

I needed urgent care as a neurosurgery patient. And was attended to promptly, I feel that if I hadn’t attended the University hospital I wouldn’t be here today. I’m very grateful to all the staff and a great surgeon, who is understanding, patient and he listens. he actually saved my life. I'd recommend the Walsgrave any day of the year. first class care and attention. Thanks everyone :)

I hate having to go here operation a few months ago rude and nasty ward staff, gave you wrong food, I was scared I tried to get released early. Today follow up appointment as usual the car park staff who are meant to monitor the disabled car park were sat in the hospital as every time in here which is most weeks is the same disabled car park is 1/3+ full of cars with no badges, I've complained every time, the excuses are its raining, breaks,no staff?? Um no because they are stood on the other side of the carpark entrance in the shelter eating! They have a NON smoking policy in ALL areas of the grounds umm nope last week 2 women were smoking not far from the main entrance so the man with the yellow vest with some wording about smoking went up to them I watched went up to them pointed at the signs they basically told him to go away and he did, he left them smoking!! This hospital has such a bad name and I'm not surprised, its shocking. The day surgery and outpatient clinics the staff are amazing, but the wards and other issues I have talked about really let the hospital down. For myself speaking to family and friends say that they always try to see someone at a different hospital no matter of distance travelled.

Instructions of how to get to departments could be improved. Signs i.e. Footprints on the floor in different colours are used at Warwick hospital and this helps. Needs some art work or sculpture.
